Maintenance cost could fall on taxpayers
Congratulations to Mr. Weyerman for initiating this multimillion dollar sports complex. Keep in mind, however, that the monies being used to build the complex are not the same as what will be required to sustain the complex.
In all likelihood, Madras residents will maintain and support the complex with ever increasing taxes for many years to come, whether or not you use the facilities. Those of us on fixed incomes and finding the increasing cost of living here in Madras already difficult will be particularly negatively impacted.
Sitting in my recliner watching TV. Without moving, I have become a criminal if Senate Bill 501 passes.
There's something wrong with this picture. I accept reasonable gun controls, such as background checks, but passing laws that make a very large group of Oregon citizens criminals through their inaction is just plain wrong.
We need to get noisy about this issue.
