We have known Carina Miller for 23 years and are asking you to vote for her for Position 5 on the Jefferson County 509-J School Board. Carina has most recently devoted her time as a Tribal Council member. She has also worked for Child Protective Services and Head Start. She has been a member of the Oregon Department of Education Ethnic Study Curriculum Work Group and chair of the Democratic Party of Oregon Native Caucus among many other endeavors.
She is also the mother of a 6-month-old son, who will someday be attending the 509-J School District. Besides being a Madras High School graduate, she also has a degree in Ethnic Studies from the University of Oregon.
Carina is inquisitive, energetic, a good listener and committed to giving back to her community. She believes in high academic standards for all graduates of our school district and that a career-relevant curriculum would support students to a successful outcome. Carina's political and educational experience, her knowledge and her commitment to her community makes her an ideal candidate for the school board. Zavodsky right choice for board
Robert R. Zavodsky brings 35 years from the fire and rescue emergency operations division, meaning he was the firefighter, lieutenant, captain, battalion chief, deputy chief who was the "boots on the ground" in a large metropolitan department, one that is nationally recognized for its expert leadership with the fire industry.
Robert's career involved disciplines of fire rescue emergency operation problem-solving, from on the scene to the board room. He is well-spoken, straight to the point, cut through the bureaucratic red tape, allowing his get-the-job-done disposition to prevail.
Robert's reputation has earned him the ability to coordinate with a multitude of city, state, and federal agencies, including the Federal Emergency Management Agency known as FEMA. It is for these reasons that we need Robert Zavodsky on the Lake Chinook Fire Board.
I, Robert Buckner, president of Lake Chinook Fire Board, highly recommend Mr. Zavodsky for a board position on the Lake Chinook Fire Board.
