Writer notes that the guy who took his plug wires must have needed them more than he; and the Republicans prepare for the local BBQ event

Knock loud when you come back

To the guy who needed the spark plug wires from my truck more than I did, I want you to know what this caused.

First, I hope someone is reading this to you, even if you have to go outside your family. The cost of the new spark plug wires is minor compared to the time it took to order, get them a day later and the hour it took to get them on and wired correctly. Time is limited for me and you stole a decent amount from me.

I showed the pictures from our security camera to the officer and he thinks he knows who you are. He seems to think your name is Bupid Stasdard.

Anyway, the time you took from me is way more important than the money. Next time, if I have something that you need more than I do, just knock on my door and I will give you the money to go get it. I may be working in the basement, so if I don't hear you knock, please have your mother bark, I will be sure to hear that.

County GOP plans event

Jefferson County Republican Party is proud to announce Central Oregon's premier political gathering at MacPherson Park at Crooked River Ranch, Terrebonne, on Aug. 10, between 2 p.m. and 7 p.m., to meet and listen to Solomon Yue and many of our Central Oregon elected officials. Mr. Yue will discuss his longtime experience as CEO of Republicans Overseas, RNC National Committeeman from Oregon, and co-founder of the RNC Caucus.?

As master of ceremonies, Central Oregon House Rep. Daniel Bonham will introduce many local Republican politicians and candidates, as well as Jefferson Country commissioners Mae Houston and Kelly Simmelink, who are all eager to discuss with you the important concerns of our county, state and nation.

This exciting informal event will have a town hall feeling in the open air, on the grass at Crooked River Ranch with an up-close and personal picnic park setting. This family friendly get-together offers you a great chance to meet one-on-one Solomon Yue and your local elected officials to discuss the political issues facing Central Oregon, the state of Oregon and the nation.

"Our hearts aching, our prayers praying, our flags waving, never forget." - Betsy Ross As with our past Burgers and Politics gatherings of political discourse and communal entertainment, we will reserve a solemn moment of reflection to show our resolve to "Never Forget 9/11" and our deep gratitude and respect for our nation's first responders, police, and military personnel who honor and have honored our great country with their brave and patriotic service.

"All great change in America comes at the dinner table." – Ronald Reagan.

Every meal partaken in America is a meal of thanksgiving celebration, so come and enjoy a pulled pork lunch (more about why no burgers at the event!) including dessert, and cool off with a cold soda or beer from Wild Ride Brewing Co. Afterwards, you can kick up your heels and dance to the music of the Relics. The kiddos will have a blast romping around in the bouncy house we will have especially for them.

Admission and music are free! Lunch is $7. The price of drinks is extra.
