Letters to the Editor
Glad to be on council; glad we fired Trump
My fellow citizens, we did it, we FIRED Trump and we are going to have Joe Biden as our next president. While Republicans and Trump Regime Loyalists cried about 'socialism' and 'rigging the election,' the Democratic party put all this aside to demonstrate adult behavior and a willingness to work together with Trump supporters even though those same Trump Regime Loyalists have called for the imprisonment and execution of Democrats. Some Loyalists even want to move the Oregon Border and make it part of Idaho. How crazy!
We have witnessed American Democracy being saved at the 11th hour by a man that I and 74 MILLION of my fellow Americans chose as well. Trump Regime Loyalists will continue to use every single dog-whistle they can to try and discredit this fact. I would also like to thank and acknowledge Republicans like Mitt Romney and George W. Bush for congratulating Joe Biden on his victory of becoming the 46th President of the United States. That is what being a responsible adult is about.
Republicans, you should learn to respect the will of all the voters, not just the ones you want to manipulate and stop utilizing weaponized ignorance. You use religion against people to get them riled up, angry and blaming others, mostly the Democrats these last four years. While there are many Republicans who are willing to dump Trump, there were a lot locally that voted for him. Let's give those people space, patience and love. Let us hope kindness will reach their hearts and they will realize that all we want is to build America back better and stronger, together, not divided under Trumpism.
I am so honored to be elected to City Council and promise to be fair and impartial, regardless of who you voted for.
I write to thank the citizens of Jefferson County for electing me to another term on the county commission. I am grateful for that support, and commit to working hard to continue to earn your trust.
I also wanted to extend my appreciation to Kim Schmith for her hard work. She most certainly is committed to our county and I appreciate the civility of the campaign.
Thank you Jefferson County.
