Aline and Charles RobertsAll friends and relatives of Culver residents Charles and Aline Roberts are invited to help them celebrate their 70th wedding anniversary at an open house from 12-3 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 22, at the Culver Christian Church, hosted by their children.

The Robertses were married on Dec. 20, 1943, at the Colorado Springs Air Force Base. They had both grown up in Central Oregon, and returned home in 1946, after the war. Mr. Roberts worked at the Warm Springs lumber mill, until purchasing a farm in Culver, which he farmed until retirement.

Both are members of the Culver Christian Church, where Mrs. Roberts taught Sunday school, served as Sunday school superintendent and held many other church offices. She was also a 4-H leader.

The couple have five daughters, Charline Maynard and Melinda Rikke, both of Milwaukie, Ore., Marylee Meliza of Old Town, Idaho, Becky Soules of Madras, and Susan King of Palmer, Alaska. They have 11 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
