"We received over $1,000 dollars in cash donations, which helped us buy gifts, pizza and drinks. Safeway donated over 150 cookies, and we also had a lot of gifts that were bought and brought down to the LINC office to give to our families during the party," said LINC Director Austin Cooper.

Some 15 volunteers helped either with set up the day before the party, or during the actual party.

Families were treated to pizza when they arrived, then the parents were able to go down to the annex basement to pick out gifts to take home, wrap and put under their trees for Christmas Day. Every child got two or more gifts.

Meanwhile, at the party, kids were able to do three different Christmas crafts.

Myrna Clark read them a story called "Santa are You for Real?" which told about the real Saint Nicholas and how he had a heart for Jesus. The real start of "Santa Claus" Christmas.

Then Santa came out and the kids got to sit on his lap before getting a candy cane and a gift bag.

"We had approximately 50 families and gave out of 150 gifts. We took pictures of kids with Santa and will have them available for parents pick up sometime after Christmas," Cooper said.
