The Jefferson County Library Film Center will feature British and Irish films in January.

Located in the library's Rodriguez Annex at 134 SE E St., Madras, the film center shows films for free, and refreshments are available.

Friday, Jan. 5, 7:30 p.m., "Death at a Funeral" (R), a 2007 British comedy.

Daniel is a decent young man, married to Jane, and still living at his father's home. When his father dies, it is up to him to organize the funeral.

On this painful morning, with a suitable grave expression on his face, Daniel is ready to welcome his father's friends and relatives. But preserving the dignity of the occasion will be a hard task in light of the guests who begin arriving.

An arthritic Nova Scotia woman works as a housekeeper while she hones her skills as an artist and eventually becomes a beloved figure in the community.
