Christian School offers preschool story time
The Madras Christian School is offering "Your Story Hour," a free program for preschoolers each Monday at 10 a.m. The weekly event features music, character-building stories, crafts and creative play for the kids.
Dianne Gibbons, a former teacher, organizes the event. The story time also includes community volunteers Janet Bissell, Robyn Spaulding, Danielle Iseminger, Jenny Rueter, and Bev Schultz — all filled with a love for children and desire to enrich their lives.
In conjunction with the story-time event, prospective students and families are welcome to schedule a campus visitation time. They may experience the wholesome classroom atmosphere, where instruction is available in grades one through eight.
If there is enough community interest, a preschool/kindergarten class will be offered next year.
Madras Christian School, through its diverse community of learners, provides a nurturing, yet challenging education. The focus is on motivating students to become responsible citizens who lead by example.
Children are taught to be "thinkers," not mere reflectors of others' thoughts. Teacher Brian Iseminger brings into the classroom both good teaching and exemplary lifestyle.
