The Conference was held in Portland, April 3-6.

The FBLA club seized this opportunity and placed in the top 10 for their chapter events, even though they had to compete with FBLA chapters from all over the state. Teamwork really makes the dream work!

The chapter events are the following: in first place for Chapter Website, Natalie Sanchez; Chapter Publicity Award, whole chapter; and Chapter Newsletter, Emma Richards.

In second place, Chapter Digital Scrapbook, Samantha Nieto; in third place, Chapter Scrapbook, Stephanie Alvarado; and in ninth place, Local Chapter Annual Report, Jake Horat.

Future leaders participated and competed in events like public speaking (Natalie Sanchez), making it to the finals on Friday, April 5, and Morgan Brandon, who participated in a presenting event as well, both having to present in front of judges.

Apart from presenting events, Stephanie Alvarado competed in Intro to Business Communications, a testing event taken online.

While leaders were at the conference and not competing in events such as the ones above, they were able to participate in workshops, where they had the chance to learn many new things. From speakers giving TED talks and learning how to budget your money, leaders went into their workshop with an open mind and ready to learn.

Overall, it was a very successful year for Culver FBLA.
