The Jefferson County Library has announced the list of free films to be shown in May at the Jefferson County Library Rodriguez Annex.
On Friday, May 3, "Black Panther" (PG13) will be shown. The Marvel film follows the story of the heir to the kingdom of Wakanda, T'Challa, following the events of Marvel's "Captain America: Civil War." He returns to his kingdom to serve as king, but finds that he is being challenged for the throne and two enemies are conspiring to destroy the country.
On Friday, May 10, there will be a showing of "The Westerner" (NR). The 1940 classic film, starring Gary Cooper and Walter Brennan, is about a self-appointed "hanging judge" in Texas, who becomes friends with a "saddle tramp," who opposes the judge's policies. The film won three Oscars.
On Friday, May 24, there will be a showing of "Film Stars Don't Die In Liverpool" (R). The fill chronicles the true story of the romance between Gloria Graham, a Hollywood legend, and Peter Turner.
All films are free and refreshments are available. The Rodriguez Annex is located at 134 SE E St. All films begin at 7:30 p.m.
