{filler:graphics-events-calendar-activities.jpg}Madras Christian School is hosting a discovery night for community members interested in learning about the school.

The event will take place Wednesday, May 22, and include refreshments, a social studies exhibit by current students and a "meet and greet" with the teacher, students and parents.

Brian Iseminger is the teaching principal of Madras Christian School. His elementary and middle school students will present their research findings about ancient historical figures on display boards and will be dressed in costumes complementing the eras of their study.

Look for appearances from Aristotle, Nefertiti, Alexander the Great, Hammurabi, Julius Caesar, and Cleopatra.

Madras Christian School attempts to develop lifelong learners through Christ-centered academic excellence. In addition to a strong focus on mathematics, language arts, and science, the school's curriculum is enriched with Bible studies, character development, nature studies, art and music.

The one-room schoolhouse model yields an environment of quiet, joyful learning, with small group and individual student instruction.

MCS is now enrolling elementary and middle school students for the 2019/2020 school year.

The May 22 event runs from 6-7p.m. at 66 SE H St. For more information, call 541-475-7545 or visit
