Buyer letters are being sent out as kids prepare to show their livestock at this year's fair.

MADRAS PIONEER LOGO - Hoovsters 4-Hers are gearing up for fair. The Hoovsters 4-H club has been busy preparing for the Jefferson County Fair beginning July 24. We have sheep, swine and a goat project in the club this year and have been exercising the animals and working them daily.

A few of us attended a sheep clinic put on by Bailey Anderson June 30. She went over products, feed programs, questions and answers and shared her extensive showmanship knowledge with roughly 15 kids. Thank you, Bailey!

We have our buyers' letters addressed and going into the mail this week. We want to invite each one of you to the 2019 Jefferson County Fair, to come watch us show our projects, ask questions, and come to the auction.

We have worked hard on our projects and want the public to see what can be done if willing to put the time into it. 4-H is an amazing program and has so many different projects you can join — everything from shooting sports, to cooking, textiles and animals. If you have kids who might be interested, please ask us questions.

If you are unable to come to the auction, there are multiple ways you can still contribute. Reach out to any 4-H member or the Jefferson County Livestock Association and see what the options are. We hope to see you at the fair!
