Art Adventure Gallery is opening its new exhibit during the Downtown Association's First Thursday Park and Play event on the Fourth of July.
The opening of the exhibit, entitled "Corazon de Mexico," begins at 5:30 p.m. and runs through 7 p.m. The exhibit features artwork from Laurie Balmuth, which includes works such as "Mexican Cowboy" and "Desert Garden" that feature many different bright colors.
The gallery, in preparation for the August exhibit has released a call to artists as well, searching for artists from the local area for their All Jefferson County Exhibit that was postponed earlier this year due to snow and adverse weather conditions.
Artists may submit a maximum of four pieces in any medium and the artist is responsible for framing and wiring any two-dimensional work to prepare it for hanging. Application forms for the show are available at the art gallery or online at www.artadventuregallery.com.
Submissions can be dropped off at the gallery during the last week of July. Art Adventure Gallery is located at 185 SE Fifth St.
The opening reception for the All Jefferson County Exhibit is set for Thursday, Aug 1, from 5:30-7 p.m., during the August Park and Play.
