Local students receive college honors, graduate
In the past couple of months, Jefferson County students have been busy earning degrees and achieving academic honors at different universities.
Oregon State University Honor Roll includes:
From Madras with a straight-A average, Jordan K. Chopra, a senior majoring in biology, Ian P. Goodwin, a junior majoring in forestry and Richard W. Molitor, a senior majoring in food science and technology.
From Madras with a 3.5 GPA or better, Quinton S. Big Knife, a senior majoring in forestry, Joseph D. Calica, a senior majoring in mechanical engineering, Dakota Kerbow, a senior majoring in kinesiology, and Kira M. Povis, a freshman majoring in pre-public health.
From Culver with a straight-A average, Camille R. Brooks, a senior majoring in natural resources.
From Culver with a 3.5 GPA or better, Lesli Alvarado-Diosdado, a sophomore majoring in marketing, Jorge L. Olivera-Radillo, a sophomore majoring in pre-construction engineering management, Benjamin R. Swindlehurst, a junior majoring in social science, and Alanis L. Thornton, sophomore majoring in biology.

To be eligible for the honor roll, undergraduate students must be enrolled in a minimum of nine graded hours in a single term at WSU and earn a grade-point average of 3.75 or earn a 3.50 cumulative GPA based on 15 cumulative hours of graded work.
