First Thursday gearing up
The second to last First Thursday Park and Play event, put on by the Madras Downtown Association, runs from 5-9 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 1.
This month's event will include 34 vendor booths, making the area at full capacity and will feature a "dog days" scavenger-hunt type of activity where participants pick up a card with a list of businesses that have large bulldog stickers somewhere inside.
The participants must find the stickers and take a selfie with them, post it to the Downtown Association's Facebook page and get the business owner to sign off on their card.
The cards can be picked up at the "Penelope's Soaps and Such" booth.
From some of the vendor booths this time around, locals can purchase beer, wine, local bread, cheese made in Prineville, as well as different cuts of meat to take home with them.
In addition, Art Adventure Gallery will be holding their "All Jefferson County" exhibit opening during the event, from 5:30-7 p.m., featuring art produced by residents of the county.
