Sean Leriche will soon graduate and be comissionned as a 2nd lieutenant in U.S. Army.

SUBMITTED PHOTO - Sean Leriche attended a 38-day ROTC camp at Fort Knox, graduating from the camp in the top 15% of all the cadets attending. Sean Leriche, a 2016 graduate of Madras High School, who will be a senior this year at Gonzaga University, recently attended the ROTC Seventh Regiment Advance Camp, at Fort Knox, Kentucky.

On July 29, he graduated from the 38-day camp with an "outstanding" rating — the designation reserved for the top 15% of all cadets. His parents, Steve and Roya Leriche, of Madras, attended the ceremony.

After camp, he was sent to a U.S. Army unit in Germany to learn more about being an Army officer. Leriche will return to Gonzaga, in Spokane, Washington, on Aug. 26, to begin his senior year. Upon graduation in May 2020, he will be commissioned as a 2nd lieutenant in the U.S. Army.

During high school, Leriche competed nationally and won an ROTC scholarship. He selected Gonzaga University because of its strong ROTC program.
