Fuzzy creature named new youth services mascot at Jefferson County Library.

The Jefferson County Library is planning to introduce an otter as the youth services mascot. The library is looking for artists to come up with their take on the furry creature and submit them to the contest the library is holding. The winning otter will become the new logo and visual representation of the mascot.

All ages are welcome to participate, and work must be original, not a copy of someone else's work. By entering the contes,t the artist is giving the library permission to reproduce the artwork for library purposes.

All artwork shout be submitted as a digital file and must be labeled with your name and phone number. The library suggests that images be 1000px on the long side and a resolution of 72dpi. Files must be submitted as jpeg, gif or png.

Entries can be emailed to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. and must be submitted no later than midnight of Sept. 30. Artwork will be judged on whether or not it fits the theme, its creativity, quality, composition and design, as well as a few other criteria.
