Grant applications due Oct. 15; must be tied to nonprofit or government unit.

The Jefferson County Cultural Coalition's application for 2020 grants is now open and the deadline to submit an application is Oct. 15.

The applications can be found on the coalition's website at and completed applications can be dropped off at the Jefferson County Library, or mailed to Jefferson County Cultural Coalition at P.O. Box 842 Madras, OR, 97741.

The application states that funds can only be granted to nonprofits or government unit, such as schools or libraries. Individuals can submit an application, however, they must be backed by one of those two types of entities to be eligible for consideration. All recipients must reside in Jefferson County.

Applicants with Warm Springs-specific projects should seek funding from the Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs Washanaksha Cultural Coalition.

In the past, money from the grants has gone to fund projects such as the First Foods project at OSU Extension and this past summer the Kids Cultural Days, put on by the Madras High School Key Club during Saturday Market.
