J.C. Public Health is hosting a fresh produce event for WIC participants Nov. 22.

Jefferson County Public Health is providing a final opportunity for WIC recipients to use their Farmers Market Direct Checks at a Harvest Festival Nov. 22.

The event, set to run from 4 to 7 p.m., will have a variety of winter produce available, including potatoes, squash, carrots, beets and kale, as well as different fruits and greens.

The checks expire on Nov. 30, and the goal of the event is to provide a chance for WIC participants to spend the checks before the deadline.

All participants will have the opportunity to enter a drawing to win a turkey dinner as well, when they redeem their direct checks.

The event will be held at the public health building at 715 SW Fourth St. For more information, call 541-475-4456.
