Teams from Jefferson County, Warm Springs will compete in Oregon District 5 All-Start Tournament.

Jefferson County Little League will send two baseball teams and four junior softball players to team up with players from Prineville and Sisters. Warm Springs Nation Little League will send three softball teams and one baseball team.
The Oregon District 5 All-Star Tournament begins this Saturday in Redmond, and a host of teams from Jefferson County and Warm Springs Nation Little League will be in attendance.

From Jefferson County, the 8-10 minors team kicks off its tournament against Bend North Saturday at 8 a.m. The 10-12 majors baseball team opens Sunday at 11 a.m. against the winner of The Dalles vs. John Day River game.

Also, a combined juniors softball team from Madras, Prineville and Sisters includes local players Hannah Holliday, Natalie Lockey, Shanti Rodriguez and Fiona White. That team plays at 10:30 a.m. Saturday against the winner of Warm Springs and Redmond.

Warm Springs will send four all-star teams to the tournament.

The juniors softball team opens against Redmond at 8 a.m. Saturday. In the majors division, Warm Springs will face another team from Redmond, at 10:30 a.m. Saturday. On Sunday, the Warm Springs minors softball team will face Redmond at 6:30 p.m.

Warm Springs' lone baseball team, in the majors bracket, is slated to open against Bend South at 2 p.m. Saturday. Due to the varying number of teams in each bracket, championship games will take place anywhere between July 3 and July 8.

All softball games will be played at Bowlby Park. Juniors baseball games will be played at Redmond High School, while the other divisions — minors and majors — will be played at the Umatilla Sports Complex.

The Oregon District 5 All-Star Tournament is a double-elimination format.
