Tollefson competes on national shooting team
Local 15-year-old 4-H shooter Eli Tollefson competed in the Shooting Sports National Championships, in Grand Island, Nebraska, June 25-29. Tollefson was part of a shotgun team that placed 12th in the nation.
The shotgun team included Ian Hull (Yamhill County), Devon Brittner (Umatilla County), Tanner Crawford (Yamhill County), and Eli Tollefson (Jefferson County). They were coached by Jackson Hull.
The shotgun team, shooting sporting clays, finished 10th out of 28 teams. Individually, Eli Tollefson found himself in a shootoff for 10th place. His teammate Devon Brittner finished 41st, with Ian Hull in 56th, and Tanner Crawford in 85th, out of 114 competitors.
In the skeet event, the shotgun team finished in 16th. Tollefson ended the day in 33rd place, followed by Hull in 52nd, Brittner in 55th, and Crawford in 83rd.
The team completed in the trap shoot competition and finished in eighth place. Brittner found himself in 11th place followed by Tollefson in 31st, Crawford in 50th, and Hull in 70th.
The shotgun team completed in the championships and finished 12th in the nation. Eli Tollefson finished the competition ranked 17th overall. Devon Brittner was 30th, Ian Hull 57th, and Tanner Crawford 78th.
