Madras White Buffalos track and field compete for first time since giant snow fall.

SUBMITTED PHOTO - Madras track competes at Crook County Relays.The Madras track team was able to compete in their first meet of the season on March 21, at the Crook County Relays.

Crook County, La Grande, Sisters, Mountain View, Redmond, Paisley, North Lake, Ridgeview and Madras all competed on Thursday.

The boys team finished with 39.5 points, finishing in fifth place, and the girls finished the meet in ninth with 10 points. Crook County (115.5), La Grande (92) and Sisters (52), finished in the top three for the boys. Crook County (95), Mountain View (59), and La Grande (51) finished at the top for the girls.

The boys 4x100 relay team of Omar Diaz, Treyvon Easterling, Dalton Waldow and Nathan Rodriguez finished in fourth place with a time of 46.45 seconds. The Sisters relay team was able to finish on top with a time of 44.91.

The 4x400 relay team of Diaz, Nathan Rodriguez, Max Binning and Jeremiah Smith also finished in fourth place. They had a time of 3:48.48, while Crook County took first with a time of 3:33.16.

Junior Donnie Bagley threw the discus 111 feet, six inches to place fourth, and he threw the javelin 134-09, placing fifth for the Buffs.

Amial Rhoan threw the javelin a little further, with a throw of 140-01, finishing in fourth place.

Allen Jackson jumped 5-06, placing fourth for the Buffs in the high jump, and Eric Boynton was able to place sixth in the pole vault with a leap of 10-06.

Easterling participated in both the long jump and the triple jump, placing top 10 in both events. He finished in fifth place in the long jump with a leap of 19-01.25, while placing seventh in the triple jump with a leap of 36-05.75.

For the Lady Buffs, sophomore Olivia Symons had a third-place finish in the long jump with a leap of 15-04.50.

Katrina Wolf placed seventh in the javelin with a throw of 85-09 and Halei Manu placed seventh in the shot put with a throw of 26-10.

Anona Francis finished in ninth place in both the shot put (26-03.50) and the javelin (76-03) for Madras.

The Buffalos will travel to Redmond for their next meet on April 3.
