Runners head to the starting line
Runners from Culver High School began their season Saturday, Sept. 7.
Culver participated in the Ultimook Race Cross Country at Tillamook High School. The boys team finished in 32nd place, while Newport placed first in the 1A-4A division. There was 34 total boys teams.
Sophomore Evan Powell was the first Bulldog to cross the finish line for the boys. Powell finished in 97th place, with a time of 20 minutes, 28.73 seconds. Jacob Horat finished in the top 150 with a time of 22:14.19.
Troy Potampa (23:28.33), Debren Sanabria (23:59.43), Austin Williams (25:12.88), and Tyler Wright (30:24.33) also ran for the Bulldogs.
Culver girls did not place at the meet, but the first Lady Dawg to cross the finish line was Jasmine Doughtery, who had a time of 29:02.82. Doughtery finished in 118th place and right behind her was Kiana Webb (29:04.66). Lucy Patampa (30:06.36) also ran for the Lady Dawgs.
Tillamook High School took first place in the girls 1A-4A division.
