Madras White Buffalo senior Javier Sedano earns first-team honors, Rodriguez, Palacios second team.

STEELE HAUGEN - The Madras boys soccer team had five all-league honors in the Tri-Valley conference. The White Buffalos finished the season with a 7-6-2 overall record, losing to La Grande 1-0 in the postseason.
The Madras boys soccer squad had five athletes earn all-league honors this season. Junior Javier Sedano was the lone Buffalo to earn first team honors, while seniors Tyriek Rodriguez and Noe Palacios earned second team for Madras.

"What I think everyone saw, was there are names left off here, that were left off for various different seasons," head coach Clark Jones said. "For me to nominate someone, they have to be exemplary, meaning good teammate and taking care of what they need to do in school. In addition to that, they need to be positive leaders in practice."

"For me, Javier Sedano was a guy who you never had to worry about a slack in effort ever," he said. "When he played, he was so fun to watch because it looked like he had so much fun. He ended up being that one right piece, where we put him in a different position and had some good results."

Earning honorable mention honors for Madras were seniors Omar Diaz and Juan Huerta.

"For Noe being second team is pretty cool," Jones said. "Omar Diaz's effort was never to be questioned. It was a pure joy to watch. I was happy the way it came out. You always want to see more kids earn honors, but when you finish in fourth place, you only get so many nominations."
