Madras White Buffalos wrestling team places sixth in local tournament at Mountain View High School.

STEELE HAUGEN - Freshman Cael White places sixth at the Adrian Irwin tournament at Mountain View Dec. 22.The Madras White Buffalo wrestling team traveled to Mountain View High School, in Bend, wrestling in the Adrian Irwin Tournament Dec. 22.

Madras was able to place sixth at the tourney out of 13 teams, scoring 134.5 points. Mountain View (453.5), Burns (220.5), and La Pine (208) were the top three teams.

At 170 pounds, Reece White placed third for the Buffalos. White won a 10-6 decision over Jesse Rubio, of McKay High School, to claim bronze.

Kody Zemke wrestled at 220 pounds and also placed third for Madras. Zemke won by fall at the 3:21 mark, defeating Mark Oberst, of Mountain View, in the third-place match.

Erik Boynton placed fourth for the Madras White Buffalos, going 6-2 at the tournament. Boynton lost a 13-9 decision over Daniel Jaramillo, of Ridgeview, to place fourth.

Dalton Kiefer beat Geiner Harpoole, of Bend High, by fall at the 4 minute mark, to place fifth for Madras at 138 pounds.

Cael White also placed fifth for Madras, as he defeated Kaden Lorimor, of La Pine, in a 5-3 decision in the 132-pound weight class.

Jesus Alonzo (126) and Tom Kallenbach (145) were able to secure sixth-place spots at the tournament to help the Buffs score 134.5 points and place sixth at the Adrian Irwin Tournament.

Madras wrestles in a dual at Willamina High School Dec. 27. The next day after the dual, the Buffs will participate in the Bob Bishop Invitational Tournament in Willamina Dec. 28.
