Culver boys basketball loses to Kennedy 75-38, Sheridan 58-37, have long home game stretch this week.

STEELE HAUGEN - Freshman Logan Macy looks for an open teammate.The Culver boys basketball team lost two away games last week against two tough Tri-River Conference teams.

Culver (5-14) lost to the Kennedy Trojans (13-7) 75-38 Jan. 28. The Trojans shot the ball very well from the field, ending the game shooting 60%.

The Bulldogs were ice cold, missing 21 shots 10 feet away from the basket.

Luke Spinelli was the leading scorer for Culver with 12 points, while Cord Gomes added 10 points and six rebounds. Jordan VanAlstyne ended the game with five points and three steals.

Loss to Spartans

Culver also lost to the Sheridan Spartans (15-5) 58-37 Jan. 31.

The Bulldogs had some key players in foul trouble and had a tough time keeping the Spartans off the glass. Culver also missed 15 free throws in their league loss.

Freshman Logan Macy led Culver in scoring with 12 points and three assists, while Gomes added nine points and six rebounds. Spinelli ended the game with eight points and five rebounds.

Culver has three home games next as they face Santiam (16-4) at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 5. They also face Colton (1-19) at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 7, and Gervais (6-14) in a very important league game which will likely decide who gets the last league playoff spot at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 11.
