Four White Buffalos earn Tri-Valley league honors
The Madras boys basketball program had four players earn all-league honors in the Tri-Valley Conference.
Madras ended the season with 10-13 overall, 5-5 in the Tri-Valley Conference, and ranked No. 22 in 4A. The team finished third in the TVC behind North Marion (9-1 TVC) and Gladstone (9-1 TVC).
Senior Dapri Miller was the lone Buffalo to earn first-team honors for Madras. The quick-off-the-dribble sniper from behind the arc averaged 18.1 points per game, 2.2 assists, 3.6 rebounds and 1.9 steals, while shooting 33% from the 3-point line and a 77% from the free-throw line.
Senior Donnie Bagley used his athleticism and grit to be a two-way threat, defensively and offensively. He wasn't afraid to put his head down and get to the rim, finishing or getting to the free-throw line. Players could not relax while guarding Bagley because he was also a threat from the 3-point line.
Bagley averaged 13.4 points, 2.9 rebounds, 1.7 steals and 1.3 assists per game. He earned second-team all-league honors for the White Buffalos.
Two Buffalos earned honorable mention honors for Madras, senior Alex Smith-Morales and junior Derek Main. Smith-Morales averaged two points, three rebounds, 0.8 assists per game. Main had a 4.6-point per game average, while also averaging 4.5 rebounds, 2.2 assists, and two steals per game.
