Luke Spinelli second-team, Gomes third-team, VanAlstyne honorable mention league honorees for boys basketaball.

STEELE HAUGEN - Junior point guard Luke Spinelli earned second-team honors. The 5 foot, 8 inch, guard led the Bulldogs' offense and led Culver in scoring, averaging 14.8 points per game. The Culver boys basketball team had three all-league honors this season. Luke Spinelli, Cord Gomes and Jordan VanAlstyne earned Tri-Valley Conference honors for the Bulldogs.

Culver finished in fifth place in the TRC with an 8-17 overall record and 7-9 conference record. The team made the district playoffs but lost to Sheridan in their postseason game.

Point guard Luke Spinelli earned second-team honors. The 5-foot-8-inch junior led the Bulldogs' offense and led Culver in scoring, averaging 14.8 points per game. Spinelli was a danger both off the dribble and from behind the arc as he made 53 3-pointers.

STEELE HAUGEN - Jordan VanAlstyne was the Bulldog's defensive leader and other teams took notice as he earned honorable mention honors for Culver. He led the team in assists per game with 3, and led the team in steals with 2.5 per game. VanAlstyne would often use his defense to score in transition, averaging 8.3 points per game.He led the team in 3-point makes and shooting percentage, while also averaging 3.3 rebounds and 2.1 assists and steals per game.

Senior big man Cord Gomes used his strength and athleticism to earn third-team honors for Culver. Standing 6 feet, 2 inches, Gomes was a problem for any team trying to attack the rim. He had a big defensive and offensive presence, as well as a knack for tracking down rebounds.

Gomes led the team in rebounds with 7.9 per game, while also averaging 11.5 points per game.

VanAlstyne was the Bulldogs' defensive leader, and other teams took notice as he earned honorable mention honors for Culver. He was a player who was good at everything coaches asked him to do. The senior could score, play defense, pass and rebound. He led the team in assists per game with three and led the team in steals with 2.5 per game. VanAlstyne would often use his defense to score in transition, averaging 8.3 points per game.

Culver averaged 46.6 points per game and Spinelli, Gomes and VanAlstyne combined for 34.6 points per game. Spinelli will be the only league honoree returning for Culver next season.
