509-J cancels field trips, sports and family engagement events
Jefferson County School District 509-J Superintendent Ken Parshall released a statement Thursday, March 12, to the Jefferson County School community saying there is a hold on all field trips, athletic competitions and family engagement events through April 8.
"Gov. Kate Brown released new rules for schools in order to help control the spread of the COVID-19 virus during the morning's press conference," Parshall wrote. "Schools will remain open and operate with precautions already in place. However, there is a hold on all field trips, athletic competitions and family engagement events through April 8th. Athletic practices and 21st Century After-School programming will continue as normal at this time. We will continue to provide updates as we receive new information."
