Oregon 4-H shotgun team to compete at nationals in Nebraska
Oregon's State 4-H National Shotgun Team will travel to Grand Island, Nebraska, in June to compete in the 4-H National Shooting Sports Competition.
This year all four of the top shooters are from Jefferson County: Seth Colton, Carson King, James Lange and Logan Lee.
The team was scheduled to attend the competition in June of 2020, but organizers delayed the competition due to COVID concerns.
Each year the four best 4-H shooters from each state are invited to compete at the national level. An invitation to 4-H Nationals is truly an honor for these young competitors as they are only allowed to compete at this level one time in their career.
This once-in-a-lifetime trip marks the culmination of years of hard work and practice. The competitors are selected based on their scores at the 4-H State competition.
Having all four shooters from one county is truly a rare occasion and is a testimony to the strong 4-H Shooting program in the county.
Jefferson County 4-H would like to wish these youth members and their coach the best of luck at the competition.
If you would like to make a donation toward their expenses, please call Jefferson County Extension office at 541-475-7107.
