The White Buffalos were led once again by brother Reece and Cael White, who continued their torrid starts to the season.

White finished in fourth place in the 182-pound bracket.While Madras struggled as a team at the Rollie Lane Invitational, the Buffs did place two on the podium.

Talented siblings Reece and Cael White added to their successful starts to the season, with the elder Reece placing fourth at 182 pounds while Cael took sixth at 160. Unfortunately for the Madras boys, the success did not go much further than the White brothers.

Madras finished in 37th place in the team scoring, landing almost exactly in the middle of the 72-team field at the Rollie Lane Invitational tournament. The event was held in Nampa, Idaho, over Jan. 7-8.

Reece White won his first two matches before losing a 6-3 decision in the third round. He won the next five matches to make it to the 3rd-place match, but White ultimately fell to Dalton Reed of Orting High School in Washington State.

As for Cael, the younger White made it all the way to the championship semifinal round before losing his next three matches.

Aside from the Buffs' top pair of wrestlers, another two Madras matmen got multiple wins at the Rollie Lane tournament.

Collin Switzler went 3-2 at the event, scoring nine team points for Madras thanks to two pins and a decision in the 152-pound bracket. At 220 pounds, Conner Comingore went 2-2.

The White Buffalos will host Grant Union in a dual meet on Thursday, Jan. 13, ahead of the Oregon Classic in Redmond on Friday and Saturday, Jan. 14-15.
