Lowell, ranked 12th, comes to Culver to take on the fifth-ranked Bulldogs at 5 p.m. Saturday; quarterfinals await the winner

COURTESY PHOTO  - The Culver Bulldogs finished second in the Tri-River Conference. They'll host Lowell Saturday in the state tournament first round game. The fifth-ranked Culver Bulldogs will host the Lowell Devils in the first round of the 2A State Volleyball Tournament Saturday at 5 p.m.

The Bulldogs, runner-up in the Tri-River Conference, go into the playoffs with a 16-6 overall record, 11-3 in conference. Lowell, which went 11-5 to take third in the Valley Coast Conference, is 15-11 overall. The Devils are ranked No. 12.

If the Bulldogs win Saturday, they will face the winner of Grant Union and Oakland in the quarterfinals, which will feature the final eight teams in the tourney. The final tourney will be played at Redmond's Ridgeview High School Friday and Saturday, Nov. 4-5.
