After starting in Eugene, "The (Travel Oregon) group left Tuesday morning (April 19) from Sisters, heading to Smith Rocks for lunch, an ice cream stopover at Beetle Bailey's in Culver, and finalized their day with their layover in Madras," said Joe Krenowicz, executive director of the Madras-Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce, who met up with the group in Culver.

In Madras, the group spotted a cyclist, Ching Hu, from Taiwan, and invited him to join them.

"Ching wanted to experience the U.S. on bicycle, and is looking forward to his interactions with people in communities that he visits," said Krenowicz. "His final destination is to be in New York City by the middle of July. He's returning to his home to continue his college education."
