Reynoso Food Corner breaks ground
Reynoso Food Corner broke ground last week at what was Sunshine Corner at D and Fifth streets.
Israel Reynoso expects the three food kitchens to be built within about three months, he said.
He expects to have building permits from the county this week, and he wasted no time breaking up the concrete at the site.
Reynoso said he and his wife, Blanca, have two vendors lined up, though he's waiting to have contracts in place before announcing them. One will serve American food and the other Mexican food.
They are still looking for one vendor, and they are hoping to find someone who will serve Thai food, based on community input.
The food corner will have a pavilion with two heaters that come from the roof, as well as two fire pits with seating.
Reynoso said the city of Madras and the Urban Renewal District have been a big help, giving their input and advice.
