All jury trials through April 30 in Jefferson and Crook County circuit courts will be rescheduled.

All jury trials in Jefferson and Crook County circuity courts have been canceled through April 30, according to a statement released Friday, March 13, by Amy Bonkosky, trial court administrator.

"The courts recognize that requiring people to congregate in close proximity for any period of time is now risky," she said.

The trials will be rescheduled as conditions allow.

"The health and safety of all patrons and employees of othe Crook & Jefferson County Circuit Cours are of utmost importantce to the courts," she wrote. "We are maintaining regular communications with our state and local public health and emergency management professionals to monitor the developing situation with the novel coronavirus (COVID-19). In partnership with our state and local preparedness partners, we have developed a comprehensive response plan. We are taking all necessary and available measures to maintain a safe an sanitary space for all employees and patrons of our court."
