A McMinnville man was killed Saturday evening when a late-model Ford crashed on Highway 240 west of Newberg.
According to a report released by the Oregon State Police, a 2016 Ford Mustang driven by Luis Antonio Mojica Padilla, 28, of Lafayette, veered off Highway 240 when Padilla failed to negotiate a curve at Red Hills Road at about 10:30 p.m.. The car traveled into a ditch and struck a tree, killing the passenger in the vehicle, Omar Ivan, 21, of McMinnville.
Padilla sustained serious injuries, the report said, and was transported to Providence Newberg Medical Center for treatment.
