Local eatery named among Top 100 restaurants in America
A local Italian restaurant is gaining national recognition after making the Top 100 list by booking website OpenTable.
The website released its list of the 100 best restaurants in America in early December and Newberg's own Rosmarino Osteria Italiana made the cut.
Rosmarino is among four Oregon restaurants on the list, which also includes Bar Mingo in northwest Portland, Holdfast in southeast Portland and Willow Restaurant – right down the street from Holdfast – in Portland. The ranking of the Top 100 restaurants in the nation is based off reviews from users.
Rosmarino, a high-end restaurant which specializes in Northern Italian cuisine, had a five-star rating from diners based on 1,017 reviews.
"The Top 100 Restaurants in America for 2019 are consistently putting out delicious dishes, providing impeccable service, and paying attention to every detail to orchestrate one-of-a-kind dining experiences time and again," OpenTable's website said in the story unveiling its Top 100. "The list features restaurants of all types and allows diners to find the right restaurant for any occasion. The list of honorees is based on an analysis of 12,000,000+ reviews of more than 30,000 restaurants across the country — all submitted by verified diners."
Rosmarino is closed to diners until Feb. 1, but when it's open it provides a five-course Italian dinner paired with wines on Thursdays through Saturdays, along with its famous "Gnocchi and Pizza Day" on Sundays. It is open other days of the week as well at varying hours for lunch and dinner service, and the restaurant requires reservations for dining experiences.
