Tax season is quickly approaching and there's a new firm in town that could aid individuals and businesses who break out into a cold sweat when faced with a form 1099 or 1040.

Diaz & Brambila Tax Services opened in November at 120 N. Everest Road Suite A and is owned by Sandra Diaz Vazquez and Natallie Brambila.

The fledgling business offers tax preparation, payroll, bookkeeping, accounting, audit support, business start-up consultation and ITIN (Individual Taxpayer Identification Number) applications.

Brambila is a Newberg native, while Vazquez hails from Aurora.

"I have been serving the Newberg community for 12 tax seasons as an employee of another tax office, where I prepared tax returns as simple as a single individual with one W-2 to more complex situations such as business owners and individuals with rental homes in both English and Spanish," Brambila said.

She added that she is the midst of seeking a degree in accounting.

Vazquez has been preparing tax returns for the past six tax seasons.

"She can handle all types of tax returns, anywhere from individual returns with businesses and rentals to partnership and corporation returns," Brambila said. "She can help clients in both English and Spanish."

A licensed tax consultant, Vazquez earned a bachelor's degree in accounting from Oregon State University.

The duo's ultimate plans for the business are fairly straight forward.

"Our hope for the future is to continue offering great service to our clients while hopefully adding more services to add more value for our clients," Brambila said. "We hope to grow enough to possibly open offices in other cities."

The business doesn't have a target demographic in mind, but rather wants to serve all people who have tax questions or needs.

"We want to serve everyone we can from varying backgrounds and we hope to do so at reasonable prices," Brambila said. "We also hope to be a good resource for our Latino community as well as anyone who needs any tax help or questions about personal income tax, like how some decisions can and/or will change their situation, business tax returns or help with starting up a business."
