Providence Newberg Medical Center has two new cancer docs.
The hospital announced recently the hiring of oncology Drs. Christine Johnson and Aleksandra McLeod. They will treat patients at the newly-opened Providence Cancer Institute/Newberg Clinic, opened in January in the plaza adjacent to PNMC.
"We are very fortunate to have these two providers join our excellent patient care team in Newberg," PNMC Chief Executive Lori Bergan said in a release. "Having additional medical oncologist helps meet the growing needs of our community."
Johnson earned a medical degree from East Carolina University and interned at the University of Virginia Health Systems. She completed her fellowships in hematology and oncology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
McLeod graduated with a medical degree from State University of New York Medical University, served a residency in internal medicine and a fellowship in hematology and oncology at Oregon Health Sciences University.
