The Newberg retirement community is growing once more as it approaches 60 years in business.

COURTESY RENDERING: FRIENDSVIEW RETIREMENT COMMUNITY - Sutton Terrace, which will feature 96 new apartment homes and new bistro and socialization venues, will be completed and ready for occupancy in 2022.

With work under way, Friendsview Retirement Community is adding to its already expansive facilities. The two new neighborhoods and a directed care facility will create more space for new residents to make Newberg their home in retirement.

"With our two new neighborhoods, Friendsview will now be poised to continue our mission for future generations of adults who desire the peace of mind that comes from knowing their health care needs will be taken care of should anything change," spokesman Frank Engle said in an email. "Friendsview can safely and proactively provide the best of both worlds for individuals ready to have a plan for their freedom years ahead by being assured of the reputation Friendsview has maintained with a safe and secure living environment for senior adults.COURTESY RENDERING: FRIENDSVIEW RETIRMENT COMMUNITY - Friendsview will add considerable to its already expansive facilities in 2022.

"Within the Friendsview community, residents can socialize, be exposed to life-long learning opportunities through George Fox University right across the street, experience comfort in health and safety protocols, and experience lasting friendships. As a Christ-centered community, Friendsview's mission and values will continue to guide the expanded community as we enter our 60th year."

The two new residential neighborhoods include Sutton Terrace, which will feature 96 new apartment homes and a new bistro and socialization venues. Springbrook Meadows North is the other residential neighborhood and will include 28 duplex homes along with a new community center. The residential care building on Friendsview's property will be replaced and the Charles Beals Health Center will be "re-envisioned," the release said.

Eighty-four new assisted living and 24-hour nursing apartments will also be built with a plaza that overlooks Hess Creek Canyon.

"Friendsview has always believed that there is no such thing as one-size-fits-all when it comes to your home," Engle said. "We all have different interests and needs. That's why Friendsview is expanding to create even more choice in senior living residential options with these two new neighborhoods and 16 new floor plans being offered. Friendsview has always had the right level of living at the right time should your health care needs ever change in the future, as proven by the third piece of this expansion, which is a completely re-envisioned health care offering at the Charles Beals Plaza."

Amenities include tree-lined vistas with landscaped courtyards; under-building parking in Sutton Terrace; garage parking in Springbrook Meadows North; fully equipped kitchens; washers and dryers in every residence; basic cable; and individually controlled heating and air conditioning.

With construction under way, residents are expected to move in by 2022.

"We look forward to welcoming another 124 households to our hospitable neighborhoods as we open in phases beginning in 2022," Engle said. "Friendsview offers a range of choices from independent senior living to assisted living, memory care, residential care nursing and personalized home health."
