The chilly temperatures of a pre-fall August evening were no match for the hot licks laid down by a pair of bands in the first Tunes on Tuesday concert since 2019.

Roughly 200 people gathered in the plaza before the Chehalem Cultural Center on Aug. 31 to listen to Tony Smiley and Dancehall Days in a four-hour, one-off performance.PMG PHOTO: GARY ALLEN - Dancers were plentiful during both acts at the concert.

Cancelled last year due to the pandemic, the favorite concert series returned for a single show this year and was well received by a generally chill crowd doing a little dancing, sipping a favorite adult beverage and grooving to the music.

A number of food and drink trucks added to the festivities as well and the kids were treated to free bubble makers, which they put to good use near the stage.
