Newberg residents Dennis and Janice Pierce's 50th wedding anniversary was recognized with a celebratory dinner last week.
The couple were married on Sept. 11, 1971, at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Salem.
The couple owns Pierce & Sons Nursery and is semi-retired.
The have two children: son Joel Pierce, of Newberg, and daughter Amanda Wood, of Sherwood. The couple has four grandchildren as well.
