More than 150 student musicians and members of the school community will participate in event

PMG FILE PHOTO - George Fox's choirs, chorale groups and orchestra will perform three concerts Dec. 10-12 in Bauman Auditorium.

An annual tradition will return to Newberg next week when George Fox University gathers together its choirs, chorale groups and orchestra for the school's annual Christmas concert.

It's largest concert of the year, the event is open to the public for performances at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 10-11 and 2:30 p.m. Dec. 12. It takes place at Bauman Auditorium on the Newberg campus of the Christian university.

Headlined "O Holy Night," the concerts will feature the university's concert choir, chamber choir, chorale group and festival orchestra and include student musicians as well as members of the George Fox community.

"More than 150 student and community musicians will tell the Christmas story through well-loved carols and seasonal compositions," a release from the school said. "Complementary staging, lighting, scripture reading and narration will enhance the production."

Directing the choral performances will be Daniella Warner, GFU's assistance professor of music. Dwayne Corbin, conductor for the university's symphonic band and symphony orchestra, will lead the instrumental portion of the performance.

Pre-concert music will regale attendees prior to the concerts and there will be opportunities to sing familiar Christmas carols as well.

Tickets are $14 for adults, $12 for seniors and GFU alumni, and $8 for students and children. They are available online at For more information, call Kathy Harris at 503-554-2670.
