NHS valedictorian gets $2,500 scholarship from Northwest Farm Credit Service

Northwest Farm Credit Services grants scholarships to 27 Oregon students

Northwest Farm Credit Services recently awarded scholarships worth $2,500 each to 27 Oregon high school seniors, undergraduate and graduate students, including one locally.

Kaspar Czuk, a Newberg High School valedictorian who will be attending St. Olaf College in Minnesota, will put the scholarship money to use seeking a degree in either engineering or pre-med.

Overall, NFCS awarded 94 students in Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Montana scholarships totaling $235,000. Scholarship winners are either pursuing education in agriculture or related studies, or are the children of NFCS employees, customers, or customers' employees.

Newberg wineries among 2022's 'Best for the World' B corps

Newberg wineries A to Z Wineworks and Et Fille earns spots on B Lab's '2022 Best for the World' list, which recognizes the top 5% of B Corp certified companies that are making a positive impact socially and environmentally. Categories include community, customers, environment, governance and workers.

This is A to Z Wineworks' seventh year on the list and its fifth time being recognized in the environmental category for its sustainability practices.

Et Fille was honored in the community category for its commitment to fair pay, diversity and inclusivity, sustainability and more.
