Library looking good after remodel
To the editor:
The new circulation desk recently installed at the Newberg Public Library is beautiful! Kudos to the craftsperson for blending the ergonomics of better function with a modern and grand style. How fortunate we are to have this facility, along with the recently remodeled Chehalem Park and Recreation District facility, which is not only state-of-the-art, but clean. Rosa makes sure of that. Even the fitness mats are scrubbed on a regular basis. There is always a fresh, clean smell when entering the fitness room. Thank you, community, for making our facilities ones to be proud of in our small town.

Newberg Charitable Organization thanks its supporters, invites community to visit thrift shop
To the editor:
The Newberg Charitable Organization is very grateful for all the support the Newberg community has provided to the Newberg Thrift Store. We are an all-volunteer store (no paid employees) where we work diligently to provide a clean, organized store for our shoppers.
We strive to provide gently used clothing, household appliances, shoes and more to all who shop in our store. We recently upgraded another area of our store for ease in shopping. Please come shop with us and view all the improvements.
We continue to donate our profits to local non-profit organizations: Newberg F.I.S.H., Helping Hands Reentry Project, Newberg-Dundee Police Foundation, VFW Post 4015 (they build ramps for vets), and A Family Place.
Over the past nine years we have donated $700,842 to these and other organizations. From 2002-2018, we have donated $1,434,129 to local nonprofit organizations. We also provide clothing/goods to low income and homeless individuals as well as people affected by house fires.
We want to thank the Newberg community members for the generous donations and the positive feedback we've received from our customers. We are always looking for responsible men or women to join our volunteer force. Please stop by or give us a call at 503-538-5051 if you have one day per week to become part of our organization.
