Veterans Day concert planned for Nov. 11 at George Fox University
The Newberg Community Band will host a concert to honor veterans Nov. 11 at George Fox University.
The concert will feature patriotic music and lively dance tunes, as well as the first public performance of Brent Weaver's "Chehalem Overture," which was commissioned by the band. The concert starts at 2:30 p.m. in Bauman Auditorium.

Holiday bazaar set Nov. 10 at Mabel Rush Elementary
The seventh annual Holiday Bazaar at the Mabel Rush Elementary School will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 10. The event welcomes all artisans, local crafters and small home-based businesses.
Church slates bazaar
St. Peter Catholic Church, 2315 N. Main St., will host a holiday bazaar from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 3. Vendor tables will includes crafts, cards, pottery, items from a country store and more. Lunch will also be available for purchase.
Technology health workshop Nov. 3
Newberg High School will host "Plugged In," a technology health workshop with Dr. Doreen Dodgen-Magee, from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Nov. 3 in Drea Ferguson Auditorium. Dodgen-Magee will help families learn to harness the advantages of technology while avoiding its pitfalls. Participants can win passes to the Evergreen Wings & Waves Water Park and Get Air Trampoline Park.
Nov. 17 concert benefits Habitat for Humanity
The second annual Habitat for Humanity benefit concert will take place at 4 p.m. Nov. 17 in the auditorium at Newberg High School, 2400 Douglas Ave.
The concert will showcase a variety of talented musicians, including local choirs and Sweet Adelines, a female barbershop-style choir.Volunteers needed for Habitat for Humanity
fundraiser Nov. 10
Habitat for Humanity is seeking volunteers to help stuff, label and sort mail. The "Hammer & Mail Party" will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Nov 10 in the youth building of the Chehalem Armory & Youth Center. Volunteers can work anytime they're available and will be offered coffee, snacks and lunch. Ages 12 and up are welcomed.
