Yamhill Community Care Organization will host summer family picnics
The Yamhill Community Care Organization is hosting family picnics throughout the summer. The first took place June 19. The next two are slated for 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at Memorial Park in Newberg and from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Aug. 21 in McMinnville at Discovery Meadows in Community Park.
Chehalem Cultural Center looking for donations
The Chehalem Cultural Center is looking for donations to help run the Artful Aging program for the residents of Friendsview Retirement Community. The event is run by the mixed media/painting/drawing and art history program at the center. For more information, visit www.chehalemculturalcenter.org/donate.
Mobile home park to host hymn event on Friday
Mountain View Mobile Home Park will host a "Praise-A-Thon" at 2 p.m. Friday at its location at 2901 E. Second St. Those attending can sing hymns that are rarely sung in church and attendees are welcomed to bring their instruments to participate as well.
Lavender Festival set for July 13 at cultural center
The annual Lavender Festival and Plein Air Art Show will be held from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at the Chehalem Cultural Center. The event features several local lavender growers, artists, food vendors and more.
Allison Inn to host 10th anniversary event
To celebrate its 10th anniversary, the Allison Inn and Spa will host the Allison Wonderland weekend at the end of the summer. The two day event takes place Aug.30-31 and includes a wine reception, a four-course dinner at Jory restaurant, a tasting seminar and other events. For two people, the cost is $2,200.
