YCSWA slates Jan. 22 talk on setting up a harvest

McMINNVILLE – The Yamhill County Small Woodlands Association, in conjunction with the Oregon State University Extension Service, will present "Setting Up a Harvest" at 7 p.m. Jan. 22 in the auditorium at the extension service headquarters at 2050 N.E. Lafayette Ave. A social half-hour begins at 6:30 p.m.

Certified Forester Ken Nygren will speak on harvest planning, set-up, contracts, marketing, supervision and post-harvest requirements.

Relay for Life sets meeting at Newberg High School

Water task force will meet Jan. 27 in Lafayette

The Yamhill County Water Task Force will meet from 9 to 11 a.m. Jan. 27 at the Lafayette Community Center, 133 Adams St. Topics for discussion at the meeting include an update on McMinville Water and Light's inter-tie project and water sharing in general; an update on water quality in the country by Travis Williams of Willamette Riverkeepers; and brainstorming on groundwater recharging.
