Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary slates a Welcome Home Spaghetti Feed on Feb. 15

DAV will hold event heralding Vietnam vets on Feb. 15

The Yamhill County Unit 5 of the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary will hold a Welcome Home Spaghetti Feed from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Feb. 15 at Dundee Women's Club, 1026 S.W. Highway 99W. The event will commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Vietnam War and, according to a press release, "give the Vietnam veterans the welcome home they deserve."

Dundee has spot open on planning commission

The city of Dundee is accepting applications to fill an open spot on its planning commis sion that expires in December 2021. Applicants must have at least one year of residency in Dundee prior to the appointment, except one member on the commission may be a non-resident owner of real property in Dundee for at least one year prior to the appointment. Applications may be picked up at City Hall, found online at www.dundeecity.org or requested by calling 503-538-3922. Applications will be accepted until 5 p.m. Feb. 12 

Career support event on tap for girls

The "Dream It, Be It" program for girls is coming to Newberg this spring. According to a flyer from the program, it "helps girls grow up to be strong, successful, happy adults" through access to professional role models and career education – among other resources. The event for girls in the Chehalem Valley is scheduled for 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. March 7 at the PCC Newberg Campus, rooms 115 and 116. A continental breakfast and lunch is provided at the event.
