DAV will hold event heralding Vietnam vets on Feb. 15
The Yamhill County Unit 5 of the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary will hold a Welcome Home Spaghetti Feed from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Feb. 15 at Dundee Women's Club, 1026 S.W. Highway 99W.
The event will commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Vietnam War and, according to a press release, "give the Vietnam veterans the welcome home they deserve."

The city of Dundee is accepting applications to fill an open spot on its planning commission that expires in December 2021.
Applicants must have at least one year of residency in Dundee prior to the appointment, except one member on the commission may be a non-resident owner of real property in Dundee for at least one year prior to the appointment.
Applications may be picked up at City Hall, found online at www.dundeecity.org or requested by calling 503-538-3922. Applications will be accepted until 5 p.m. Feb. 12.
Ewing Young will be celebrated on Saturday
The Newberg Area Historical Society and the Newberg Public Library will host the second annual Ewing Young Day celebration from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday at the library, 503 E. Hancock St. The event will celebrate the 10th anniversary of the signing of the Ewing Young Bill, which established Ewing Young Day in Oregon.
Other sponsors include Ewing Young Distillery, George Packing, Newell Pioneer Village, Willamette Falls & Landing Heritage areas and Champoeg State Heritage Area.
